Chambrelan_D5Next to the RA7R, the RA5R is one of our most popular heavy-duty telescopic slides in the Chambrelan range. Up until now the RA5R, which is the standard carbon steel product and the ST508, the stainless steel version, have been the only two products in the RA5 collection. Over the years both have been modified by improving the deflection criteria, which increases the stated load capacities, but with news of the D5 launching on the market Chambrelan have finally managed to complete the range offering the same profile in three different materials.

The new D5 anodised aluminium slide is 50% lighter than the standard RA5R, making it a positive addition to the collection and ideal for electronic applications, cash dispensers and control boards.

The new addition is just another example of how Chambrelan aims at extending and improving its entire range, offering a broader and more versatile collection of heavy duty sliding systems.

Chambrelan Improved D444

Chambrelan has improved their D444 series of slide: - We added tab stops and trapped delrin balls as the attached drawings, thus the D444 is now similar to RA44 - For all lengths less than 300 mm, the slides will be with balls only (not plastic strips) - The D444V lg 300 will have 3 M4 on the inner beam instead of 4 (like the RA44V-0300) More details about the D444 series of slide can be found here. Allied International is the North American distributor for Chambrelan slides

DC VS AC

AC 400 HZ or 28 VDC brushless?

In the high reliability aerospace market AC 400 Hz fans are less expensive  than 28 VDC brushless fans with the same performance. On a jet aircraft where presumably both types of current are available some people ask why go with 28 VDC. Obviously it may just be a matter of convenience. Transformer rectifier units typically use  AC 400 Hz fans because the TRU has AC 400 hz input.  On the other hand the fan may be cooling an electronics box which is running on 28 VDC and there is 400 Hz AC available nearby. Another reason would be the need for a signal to indicate the speed of the fan or whether it is turning at a minimum speed necessary to cool the box. These signals, commonly known as fan performance sensors or low speed warning require DC current. You can have a speed sensor on an AC fan but you have to power it with DC normally. AC fan speed is controlled by the frequency. DC fan speed can vary with the voltage. DC fan electronics can have all kinds of built in features like soft start to limit inrush current.

Dearborn Electronics

DEARBORN ELECTRONICS Plastic film capacitor manufacturer, Dearborn Electronics of Longwood Florida has been acquired by Exxelia, parent company of Eurofarad (plastic film and ceramic capacitors), SIC SAFCO (aluminum electrollytic capacitors) and Firadec (Tantalum Capacitors) . Dearborn fits in perfectly with the Exxelia market focus of niche products for specialized markets like aerospace, defense, down hole oil exploration and medical technology. In order to better serve the US market particularly defense applications where ITAR restrictions limit access to Exxelia's technology Dearborn Electronics engineers will in the future be able to provide technical support for all the Exxelia product lines in the USA. Dearborn will enhance the Firadec we tantalum presence in the USA by performing screening comparable to Mil-C-39006 Allied International is now a fully authorized Dearborn Electronics distributor and will continue to serve our existing Eurofarad, SIC SAFCO and Firadec customers going forward.

Allied International Has A Great Show at APEC 2009

Allied International participated in APEC 2009's Power Electronic Conference in Washington.

Allied International is the exclusive US Distributor for fans, blowers, and electric motors manufactured by Honeywell-LMB. Honeywell-LMB DC Brushless fans are typically provided at 24, 26 or 28 VDC, but can be custom wound to meet customer requirements.

We are the North American Distributors for Eurofarad of Paris, France. Eurofarad has been the European leader in aerospace grade capacitors since the 1960s. Eurofarad capacitors are found in critical applications from satellite switch mode power supplies, to traveling wave tubes, to magnetic resonance imaging, to railway signaling, to aircraft electromechanical actuators for flight controls and high temperature (up to 200© C) down-hole oil exploration logging while drilling.

Allied International is the North American distributor for Firadec. Firadec specializes in producing tantalum capacitors. Tantalum capacitors are the capacitors which have the highest ratio capacitance per volume. This is mainly due to
the high dielectric coefficient of its insulator and to its large cross-section.
