SIC-SAFCO NEWS
The Radial solder range of Aluminum Electrolytic capacitors, manufactured in France by SIC-SAFCO and distributed in the North America by Allied International, ALSIC145 -55 +145°C, 10 - 100V, is enlarged with rated voltage 50V and ripple currents increased.
RoHS
European directive 2002/95/EC
Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances
in electrical and electronic equipment
Every product with restriction use (mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated flame retardants) is not present in SIC-SAFCO capacitors, except lead contained in solder coating of some capacitor ranges, manufactured before January 1st 2006 :
- Screw terminals capacitors (FELSIC ranges) are completely in accordance with the directive.
- New radial non cylindrical range CUBISIC is completely in accordance with the directive.
- Axial capacitors (PRORELSIC, PROMISIC, RELSIC, SICAL) are in accordance with the directive since January 2000. At this date solder coating was changed into pure tin coating.
- Radial capacitors with snap-in pins (SNAPSIC range) are in accordance with the directive since September 1st2005 (Ø 25, 35 and 40) or since January 1st 2006 (Ø 22, 30, 45). Pins are coated with pure tin coating.
- Radial capacitors with straight pins (CI-FRS range) or with wires (ALSIC ranges) are in accordance with the directive since September 1st 2005. Terminals are coated with pure tin coating.
We advise to follow pure tin soldering recommendations : temperature bath 260 – 265°C, 2 s, >= 2 mm from capacitor body without flux, according to IEC 60 068-2-54 (test Ta method 1).
Article codes are unchanged. But capacitors where lead is prescribed, have now special code number.
